Get Hands-On Experience with Our Free Stock Market API

Before diving in, why not give our API a spin without any coding? Simply visit our Swagger User Interface to try out various endpoints and functionalities. You don’t even need an account to get started!

For demonstration purposes, we’ll be using the AAPL stock symbol. Feel free to test the API with this free symbol, no account or API key required. You can test every endpoint in our API using AAPL, even the premium ones.

Fetching a Free Stock Quote

  1. Navigate to the stock quote endpoint.
  2. Skip the optional parameters and fill in the required parameters highlighted in bold.
  3. Enter the stock ticker AAPL to fetch the quote.
  4. You can also opt to use timestamps for a more understandable output. Timestamps are set to the timezone of the exchange where the stock trades. For AAPL, that would be New York.

Analyzing Stock Candles

  1. Head over to the stock candle endpoint.
  2. Enter AAPL as the stock symbol.
  3. Choose a resolution. For example, select a 5-minute resolution.
  4. Optionally, narrow down the data by selecting a countback of 10 candles for a more manageable dataset.

Now you’ll see 10 5-minute candles, each showing Open, High, Low, Close (OHLC), and volume data.

Optional Features

Using Relative Dates

Another cool feature is the use of relative dates. Simply enter ‘yesterday’ for the date parameter and switch to hourly candles to get a comprehensive view of yesterday’s trading activity with hourly candles.

Easy-to-Read Output Formats, Fully Configurable

Want your data in a more accessible format? Opt for a human-formatted output in CSV instead of JSON to easily build spreadsheets. In fact, this is the same method we used to build our Google Sheets add-on!

Our API offers universal parameters that work on all endpoints, making it easy to get started with each new endpoint we add.

Your Turn to Play

Now that you have seen how simple it is to get market data, it’s time for you to take it for a spin. Visit our Swagger User Interface and let us know how your experience was in the comments below.

Comprehensive Documentation

Our API is meticulously documented to ensure you can easily integrate Market Data into your projects and applications. Whether you’re interested in fetching real-time stock quotes or diving deep into stock candles for technical analysis, you’ll find dedicated sections in our documentation to guide you through. Each feature is explained with examples, making it straightforward for you to get started and implement these functionalities into your workflow.
